Patrick Barlows THE MESSIAH ist eine amüsante und urkomische Neuinterpretation der größten Geschichte aller Zeiten: der Weihnachtsgeschichte! Das gesamte Ensemble aus… zwei Personen, unter der Leitung des „angesehenen Historikers und Schauspielers“, dem künstlerischen Leiter Jeffrey Thespus Wimpole (Mike McAlpine) und seinem inkompetenten, äh, mutigen Assistenten Humphrey Dott (Bevan Thomson), präsentiert uns seine Version der gesamten Weihnachtsgeschichte, unterstützt von der fantastischen Opernsängerin (Anna Moog), die brillant Auszüge aus Händels Messias singt. Jeffrey und Humphrey spielen alle beliebten Figuren, Josef, Maria, den Erzengel Gabriel, Herodes, Gott und viele, viele mehr. Das Publikum wird das Theater voller Freude und Weihnachtsstimmung verlassen.

English Theatre Düsseldorf (ETD) is delighted to bring Patrick Barlow’s British Christmas comedy THE MESSIAH to BIS this December!

Patrick Barlow’s THE MESSIAH, is an amusing and farcical re-imagining of the greatest story of all time; The Nativity Story! The entire ensemble of… two, under the direction of “distinguished historian and thespian”, artistic director Jeffrey Thespus Wimpole (Mike McAlpine) and his incompetent, er, brave assistant Humphrey Dott (Bevan Thomson), bring us their version of the entire Christmas story, with the help of fantastic opera singer (Anna Moog), who brilliantly sings excerpts from Handel’s Messiah. Jeffrey and Humphrey play all the popular characters, Joseph, Mary, the Archangel Gabriel, Herod, God and many, many more. Audiences will leave the theatre infected with joy and the holiday spirit.
